Lisa Henshall is a renowned Norfolk-based abstract artist whose work is inspired by the irregular shapes and rhythms of nature, wildlife, and the outdoors. Drawing from the landscapes around her, she explores organic forms, movement, and texture to create expressive, intuitive compositions.
Her work is exhibited widely in the UK and internationally, including appearances at the Affordable Art Fair, Battersea, London and international art fairs with ArtDog London.
Challenge
As an established abstract artist exhibiting both nationally and internationally, Lisa required a distinctive logo to create a consistent and recognisable visual identity across her practice, to support her growing professional presence. Unifying her branding across exhibitions, promotional materials, and digital platforms, while reflecting the organic, playful, nature-inspired qualities of her work.
The logo combines stylised initials that take inspiration from her abstract paint marks with elegant serif typography to create a distinctive and cohesive identity. The restrained colour palette and classic Serif typefaces establish a refined, contemporary tone, suitable for both print and digital applications. The overall design prioritises clarity, scalability, and versatility across exhibition materials and branding touchpoints.
The branding balances sophisticated tradition with creativity, establishing a visual identity that feels both professional and deeply personal. The typographic strategy pairs the elegant, high-contrast serif Prata for headlines with the classic reliability of Times New Roman for body copy, evoking a sense of timeless gallery curation. The colour palette is particularly intentional, moving beyond a simple scheme to a comprehensive spectrum that mirrors the artist's personality and work; it pairs earthy neutrals with vibrant, high-energy pops of Coral and Chartreuse. Graphically, the brand utilises fluid, rounded containers that echo the fluid shapes of her paintings, creating a cohesive visual language that feels deeply connected to the art itself.
